Base Salary
$140k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, cost-efficient serverless backend services using Python and AWS.
- Architect and build event-sourced systems and event-driven pipelines with reliable message processing, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn requirements into technical designs and shippable code.
- Implement security, logging, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and drive technical excellence.
- Research, propose, and integrate technologies and patterns that improve development velocity and system performance.
- Define and articulate effective, secure, and ethical ways to integrate AI tools into the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in an initial screening email, technical assessment interview, and panel interview.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional full-stack software development experience.
- Expert-level Python proficiency for backend development and strong working proficiency with Node.js.
- Deep experience designing, deploying, and maintaining serverless applications, preferably with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and managed services.
- Hands-on DynamoDB experience, including single-table design, GSI/LSI strategies, and performance optimization at scale.
- Understanding of event sourcing and event-driven architecture, with experience using message brokers or streaming services such as SQS, SNS, EventBridge, or Kinesis.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Demonstrated hands-on fluency with AI-powered coding tools, including the ability to show productivity gains and mitigate code quality, security, and intellectual-property risks.
- Experience with advanced AWS services such as Kinesis, SageMaker, or Step Functions is preferred.
- Familiarity with TypeScript for front-end or Node.js development is preferred.
- Proficiency with a modern front-end framework such as React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
- Experience in regulated or compliance-focused environments is preferred.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
- Candidates must be prepared to discuss AI tool usage, AI limitations, strategic opportunities, and the evolution of software engineering roles.
