Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Articulate and evangelize technical vision and translate complex problems into practical, operational solutions.
- Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance while contributing hands-on proof-of-concept work for the Settlement platform.
- Modernize monolithic systems into microservice architectures and event-driven platforms.
- Define long-term platform strategy, API standards, coding standards, and design standards with engineering and architecture leaders.
- Ensure technical design and implementation quality, including performance, scalability, operability, security, reliability, and DevOps practices.
- Lead cross-divisional projects and architectural reviews that advance technology practices.
- Mentor engineers, coach technical communities, support professional development, and help recruit engineering talent.
- Share technical expertise through code samples, blog posts, clear communications, and other internal and external materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, cloud computing, and data architecture.
- Preferred master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Preferred 10+ years of experience with software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, web technologies, distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture.
- Preferred 10+ years of professional coding experience with Go, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred 8+ years of experience with databases and database management systems and 10+ years across the full system-development lifecycle.
- Preferred experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, virtualization technologies, networking protocols, and third-party distributed-system integration.
- Preferred experience mentoring senior engineers, leading cross-domain architectural reviews, and establishing coding and design standards.
- Expertise in the strategic application of agentic AI coding tools and experience with Spec-Driven Development are preferred.

- The role is a full-time position with location-specific annual base salary ranges; listed ranges span $244,700-$279,200 in several locations, $269,100-$307,200 in McLean, VA, and other locations use their applicable pay range.
- The role may also include performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
