
Senior Software Engineer, AVP
State StreetResponsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software enhancements and solutions for Charles River IMS.
- Modify core frameworks and primary facilities critical to system operation.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple, sustainable solutions to complex problems.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance within and beyond the team’s scope.
- Direct problem solving for projects or major project phases involving advanced software technical issues.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams, development teams, and large mission-critical client implementations.
- Write unit and automation tests, conduct manual testing, and improve development and test methodologies.
- Review proposed changes and provide informed guidance and critical analysis during code reviews.
- Participate in scrum activities including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Plan and coordinate cross-team activities and assist team leaders in advancing the software development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 13 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience is required.
- At least 6 years of financial-services experience developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management is strongly desired.
- Authoritative experience with object-oriented programming, compiler or interpreter technologies, embedded systems, operating systems, relational databases, scripting, and advanced programming languages.
- Experience developing cloud-native services, with Azure experience considered a bonus.
- Experience with microservice architectures, Kubernetes, Kafka, message-based systems, and SQL.
- Snowflake experience is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop simple solutions for highly complex business and technical problems.
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, collaboration, and code-review abilities.
- At least 5 years of experience working with an Agile development methodology.
