Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and lifecycle of products across the frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.
- Design and build scalable services, clean APIs, efficient data flows, and resilient distributed-system architectures.
- Deploy, scale, and operate backend services in AWS using Kubernetes.
- Develop React-based frontend experiences using modern React and MobX or Redux.
- Design and operate PostgreSQL databases, Redis caching, and automated data and deployment pipelines.
- Ensure services meet performance, reliability, security, SLA, and SLO requirements through observability, telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and rate-limiting.
- Use quantitative analysis of latency and traffic volume to guide architecture and technology decisions.
- Monitor, debug, and respond to incidents in production systems.
- Create and document technical designs that account for scale, reliability, and regional constraints.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and hands-on technical guidance.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience with JavaScript, Node.js, Go, React, and Next.js.
- Strong proficiency designing and building scalable Node.js services; Go experience is also relevant.
- Deep hands-on AWS and Kubernetes experience for deploying, scaling, and operating backend services.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and data or deployment pipelines.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with React and MobX or Redux, along with frontend build tools, module bundlers, and package managers.
- Understanding of core web vitals, page-speed optimization, and the flow from browsers through CDNs, load balancers, and API gateways to backend services.
- Production systems experience involving monitoring, debugging, incident response, security practices, telemetry, alerting, and observability.
- Ability to communicate technical trade-offs and visualize system flows for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience in identity and access management and knowledge of security engineering and application security principles.
