Responsibilities
- Solve the hardest technical problems across public-sector programs and unblock projects with unclear paths forward.
- Lead technical discovery with clients, scope proofs of concept, and define focused approaches for demonstrating value.
- Build and productionize AI agents, evaluation pipelines, data systems, and knowledge systems.
- Define cohesive, secure, and reusable solution architectures and technology foundations.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, and code reviews while raising the engineering bar.
- Partner with senior company and client executives on high-stakes technical and business trade-offs.
- Convert field learnings into reusable platform capabilities and lead agentic engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of post-graduation engineering experience with proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or C++.
- 5+ years applying AI/ML in production, including generative or agentic AI applications, RAG systems, or evaluation pipelines.
- Deep system design and architecture expertise, including experience with cloud-based machine learning platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous early-stage problems from concept through prototype and production.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical standards of a team or organization.
- Experience working directly with clients ranging from engineering teams to senior executives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include forward deployed engineering experience, startup or founding-engineer experience, large-scale AI deployment, government or regulated-industry programs, on-premises or customer-controlled deployments, and UK government security clearance such as SC or DV.
