Responsibilities

  • Design, build, productionise, evaluate, test, secure, and monitor AI-enabled features and services.
  • Use large language models, RAG, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks or orchestration to deliver production solutions.
  • Rapidly prototype and validate concepts, moving ideas from whiteboard to working demonstrations and scalable implementations.
  • Develop web-based applications and services using C#/.NET, React and/or Angular, TypeScript, and Python.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with Azure cloud and DevOps tooling.
  • Direct AI coding assistants and agentic workflows while reviewing human- and AI-generated code against architectural, development, and security standards.
  • Own delivery of a small suite of business-related projects and maintain alignment with the wider technical vision.
  • Coach colleagues and drive adoption of responsible AI agent-led delivery practices.
  • Challenge development processes, particularly the integration of AI agents into the SDLC.
  • Track external AI and agentic technology trends and apply them pragmatically to products.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of commercial software engineering experience.
  • Practical professional experience building with large language models, RAG, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks or orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React and/or Angular, TypeScript, C#/.NET, and Python.
  • Commercial Azure cloud experience using GitHub and Azure DevOps across the SDLC and Agile delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype and validate ideas and move from concept to working demo within days.
  • Experience leading, influencing, and mentoring through hands-on contributions.
  • Experience working in financial services, preferably insurance or insurance broking, or the ability to quickly become effective in a new domain.
  • Experience running AI or LLM solutions at production scale, including evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and cost management, is desirable.
  • Experience designing or orchestrating multi-agent workflows and familiarity with agent protocols such as MCP is desirable.
  • Experience with microservice architectures and containerisation is desirable.
  • Experience with mathematical algorithms or geospatial, catastrophe, or financial-modelling data is desirable.
  • Experience translating complex business processes across multiple stakeholder groups is desirable.
  • A BSc in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Science, or Computer Science is desirable.
  • Strong communication, creative problem-solving, initiative, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
