Base Salary
$171k - $181k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain highly scalable backend services using Go.
- Own critical services for Package Protection, Returns Protection, Claims, Orders, Tracking, and Email Parsing.
- Design and evolve distributed systems and event-driven architectures processing high transaction volumes.
- Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs for internal products, merchants, and external partners.
- Develop and improve merchant platform, carrier, and third-party integrations.
- Optimize production performance, reliability, scalability, and observability.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in architectural decisions and improve engineering standards and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and scaling backend systems.
- Experience designing, deploying, and supporting distributed systems in production.
- Proficiency with Go or another modern backend language with willingness to develop Go expertise.
- Experience building and supporting cloud-based services, preferably in AWS.
- Experience with relational, distributed, and NoSQL databases such as CockroachDB and DynamoDB.
- Experience designing scalable APIs, including REST and GraphQL.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, and high-volume data processing.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and platform reliability tools such as Grafana.
- Strong software engineering, system design, and scalable architecture fundamentals.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, communicate effectively, and mentor engineers.
- Experience with third-party APIs, external integrations, or complex technical ecosystems.
- Experience in ecommerce, logistics, shipping, or post-purchase platforms is helpful but not required.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
