Responsibilities
- Develop Java and J2EE applications according to specifications, timelines, and quality criteria.
- Build and maintain lean, resilient, robust, self-healing, and scalable applications for counterparty credit risk management.
- Own applications within the assigned Risk Technology sub-domain.
- Work with business users and Business Analysts to understand requirements.
- Perform code analysis, compilation, code walkthroughs, execution-flow analysis, deployment, and behavior or unit testing.
- Identify code changes needed to implement functionality and maintain traceability.
- Participate in design, code, and project review meetings with local and global teams.
- Support unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and SIT.
- Manage code check-ins, check-outs, merges, and build management.
- Provide technical, architectural, and behavioral leadership and disseminate knowledge across teams.
- Coordinate with remote teams and promote disciplined software development processes.
- Use AI copilots and AI-driven tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, documentation, optimization, and automated testing.
Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years of experience designing and building software applications.
- Strong object-oriented design skills and thorough knowledge of Core Java and J2EE.
- Knowledge of Java threading, collections, synchronization, locking, annotations, and generics.
- Experience with Spring Core, Spring Batch, SQL, PL/SQL, design patterns, Ant, Maven, and Eclipse.
- Understanding of ETL, ELT, data warehousing, RDBMS, Unix shell scripting, and microservices on cloud.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or caching technologies.
- Preferred experience with caching frameworks, IOC frameworks such as Juice, GemFire, Redis, or Hazelcast.
- Knowledge of development best practices and test-driven development.
- Bachelor of Technology degree preferred, ideally in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering; candidates from other disciplines with coding and systems-development interest may apply.
- Substantial experience in investment banks, banks, or product companies is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, design, coding, communication, coordination, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively in small to medium-sized teams and with remote global teams.
- Experience using AI copilots and AI-driven development tools, including effective prompting, code optimization, automated testing support, and knowledge sharing.
