Base Salary
$185k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect scalable backend solutions using MySQL, Vitess, Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, and big data platforms.
- Build and enhance Python-based backend systems that integrate with machine learning and AI models.
- Design and implement business logic with Django and integrate services with databases and AI components.
- Write maintainable code for high-performance web services and real-time AI analytics.
- Collaborate with AI teams on data pipelines, model deployment, and AI-enabled product features.
- Drive technical decisions, communicate technical strategies, and mentor junior engineers.
- Deploy and manage services on AWS and support production server infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing and architecting large-scale web services.
- Strong expertise in databases, distributed systems, backend performance optimization, database internals, transactions, indexing, and schema design.
- Expert proficiency in Python or experience with Go, Java, or C++.
- Extensive experience with Django, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and Cassandra.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing services on AWS, particularly those interfacing with machine learning platforms.
- Substantial production server experience or equivalent backend expertise.
- Strong communication, ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with HTTP, networking principles, API design patterns, operating systems, and Linux is beneficial.
