Base Salary

$185k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Drive architecture and design decisions for robotic software systems covering perception, navigation, motor control, reasoning, and human-robot interaction.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex software systems from design through production deployment and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate across research, machine learning, hardware, and operations teams to deliver integrated robotic solutions.
  • Define technical roadmaps and drive innovation in robotic software development, including production-level SDKs for developers.
  • Design and implement systems and tools that accelerate development velocity for multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Mentor engineers and facilitate discussions with senior leadership about technical trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithm design, statistics, and system design.
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying complex, performant, reliable, and scalable software solutions in production.
  • Experience discussing technical and architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation with senior leadership.
  • Preferred experience in robotics design, automation systems development, control systems design, or related product development.
  • Preferred experience training and deploying machine learning systems for large-scale optimization, or experience in development or technical support.
  • Preferred experience mentoring or training engineering communities on complex technical issues.
  • Track record of delivering developer-facing products with robust SDKs and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
