Responsibilities
- Become the technical expert for DevOps, site reliability, cloud, and related team domains.
- Lead planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects across multiple teams.
- Lead and mentor engineers and establish standards for stable, correct, and maintainable code.
- Own large or complex technology capabilities and infrastructure projects from technical design through completion.
- Drive cross-team collaboration, identify project risks, and mitigate delivery issues.
- Prioritize technical roadmaps and influence product roadmap and process enhancements.
- Design and build resilient systems, reduce failure domains, and minimize the impact of maintenance and outages.
- Guide development of Service-Level Objectives for owned systems.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasingly impactful accomplishments.
- Experience contributing significantly to cross-pod or cross-company deliverables.
- Experience leading technical contributions and building fault-tolerant, scalable software systems.
- Demonstrated practical application of computer science concepts.
- Experience mentoring and training more junior engineers.
- Deep production cloud experience with AWS or GCP at scale is a bonus.
- Advanced Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code experience is a bonus.
- Experience with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, SRE practices, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, CI/CD, observability, cloud-native security, networking, or service mesh technologies is a bonus.
- Ability to use at least one programming language to develop scripts and software.
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent high-level industry experience.
