Responsibilities
- Build and operate Kafka or equivalent event-streaming infrastructure, including topic design, reliability patterns, scaling, monitoring, production support, and performance tuning.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for repeatable builds and deployments across environments.
- Provision and manage AWS GovCloud or Azure Government environments supporting IL5 and other security and compliance expectations.
- Implement infrastructure as code for cloud resources, cluster provisioning, network and security configuration, and environment replication using Pulumi, Terraform, and/or Ansible.
- Deploy, upgrade, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes platforms and workloads, including Helm-based packaging.
- Establish logging, metrics, tracing, runbooks, alerting, and incident-response support.
- Implement least privilege, secrets management, network segmentation, patching, and other DoD security controls with security and architecture teams.
- Drive backup and restore, disaster recovery, performance testing, capacity planning, and other reliability engineering practices.
- Partner across application, data, scoring, security, and architecture teams to provide secure platform guardrails and enable faster delivery.
Requirements
- Must maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
- Must hold an active Security+ certificate.
- Must be able to obtain an AWS certification, such as Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, within one month after onboarding.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years of experience or master’s degree with 3–6 years of experience.
- At least 5 years of DevOps or platform engineering experience delivering and operating systems in a government-cloud environment.
- Strong experience with Kafka or equivalent event-streaming platforms, including production support and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience with Pulumi, Terraform, and/or Ansible for infrastructure as code and configuration management.
- Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
- Strong Kubernetes experience covering deployments, Helm or equivalent packaging, cluster operations, and workload troubleshooting.
- Experience implementing DoD security controls and remediations, including operating-system hardening and patching.
- Experience in compliance-driven environments such as IL5 or RMF-aligned programs.
- IC and/or DoD experience, strong troubleshooting ability, and an operational ownership mindset.
