Responsibilities
- Design, write, and deliver software that improves the availability, latency, and efficiency of Freshworks products and platforms.
- Develop scalable, cloud-native architectures and infrastructure solutions for business growth.
- Design and implement self-healing, auto-scaling, automation, orchestration, and automated deployment mechanisms.
- Manage availability, latency, performance, resilience, and cost optimization for mission-critical services and the Freshworks Cloud environment.
- Define strategy, vision, and roadmaps for performance, availability, scalability, and resilience.
- Drive blameless postmortems and incident retrospectives for large-scale incidents.
- Identify opportunities for performance tuning, profiling, operational improvement, and recurrence prevention.
- Build consensus around reliability goals and improve cross-functional operational practices.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of experience in site reliability engineering, including application performance, architecture, and design.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, networking, Linux systems administration, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Understanding of SRE principles including SLOs, SLIs, SLAs, and error budgets.
- Experience managing incidents and retrospectives, cloud architecture, cloud cost management, automation, and scalable distributed systems.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and telemetry tools such as New Relic, Splunk, ELK, Nagios, SolarWinds, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with performance engineering, performance tuning, profiling, technical roadmaps, stakeholder communication, requirements gathering, and documentation.
- Experience with AI-driven system optimization or predictive analytics for IT operations is required.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems, communicate effectively, motivate cross-functional teams, and build consensus around reliability goals.
