Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, configure, and support SCADA and Production Optimization Systems for oil and gas customers.
- Build screens, workflows, reports, utilities, scripts, and system integrations to support customer operations and SCADA hardware.
- Debug programs and scripts, perform root-cause analysis, correct issues when possible, and escalate problems to Development when necessary.
- Troubleshoot SCADA hardware, RTUs, PLCs, communication configurations, radio communications, and industrial systems.
- Support software upgrades, third-party application rollouts, database and middleware operations, and customer issue resolution.
- Train users in system usage and administration and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, security, environmental, governance, and company policies.
- Manage assigned work, expenses, documentation, service quality, and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
- 2–5+ years of experience, including experience in a similar role troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software problems.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly production or artificial lift.
- Experience deploying and debugging enterprise software in a Microsoft environment.
- Strong knowledge of C#, SQL, PowerShell, SQL Server Management, ETL techniques and tools, application integration, Windows programming, web security, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience with Windows OS administration, Microsoft Server OS, automation and scripting concepts, database and middleware operations, backup and restore, performance tuning, and high-availability/disaster-recovery patterns.
- Experience with SCADA, MODBUS, OPC, MQTT, RTUs, PLCs, communication configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with CygNet SCADA, ForeSite, or similar software is relevant.
- Knowledge of OT and IT architecture requirements for SCADA applications and commonly used oil and gas SCADA practices.
- Exposure to open-source analytics, data analytics, BI applications and frameworks, cloud platforms, RESTful APIs, and web applications.
- Valid driver's license, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage crisis situations, organize work, and operate with minimal supervision.
- Domestic and foreign travel may be required.
