Responsibilities
- Own quality for a product or partner-integration track from test design and automation through defect investigation, verification, and release sign-off.
- Build and maintain automated API, end-to-end, mobile, and visual/responsive test suites with reusable helpers.
- Design deterministic test infrastructure including service mocks, real-to-mock switches, CI gates, and test-data tooling.
- Instrument tests and CI pipelines to identify coverage gaps and quality drift before production.
- Use Claude Code and equivalent AI agents in disciplined test-first, verification, and quality-monitoring workflows.
- Design and execute exploratory and risk-based testing for new surfaces, migration edge cases, and automation gaps.
- Investigate defects using Datadog, Temporal, Kafka, and SQL, documenting reproducible steps, impact, and root cause.
- Review specifications and designs upstream, model release and migration risk, and make evidence-based go/no-go decisions.
- Mentor peers and create test frameworks and documentation adopted by other engineers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of QA engineering experience with hands-on test automation across APIs, web UI, and mobile.
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js, with the ability to write readable, tested, and reviewable code.
- Solid SQL and relational database skills for data validation and root-cause investigation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong communication, adaptability, ownership, initiative, and comfort working in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
- Experience with mobile automation, visual regression, performance testing, CI/CD, contract or mock testing, or observability tooling is preferred.
- Startup or fast-growth technology experience is preferred; fintech, lending, payments, or eKYC experience is a bonus.
- Experience mentoring peers or delivering test frameworks adopted by others is an advantage.
