Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for the Amazon Connect-based UK Contact Centre platform.
- Design and own software engineering development and deployments from end to end, with a focus on backend architecture and design patterns.
- Set engineering standards, lead by example, promote best practices, and mentor other engineers.
- Build quality, test-driven development, security, and resiliency into software delivery.
- Automate systems, identify bottlenecks, optimise services, and participate in proactive incident management.
- Support monitoring and troubleshooting across distributed systems and potentially participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
Requirements
- Production-grade software engineering experience and knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Primary software development experience with Node/TypeScript or Go.
- Experience or willingness to work with AWS serverless services, Amazon Connect, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring and logging tools.
- Ability to think strategically about backend architecture and design patterns while owning delivery from start to finish.
- Interest in engineering best practices, test-driven development, resiliency, automation, and system optimisation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and adapt to unfamiliar technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and mentor other engineers.
