Responsibilities
- Design, build, implement, and maintain software applications using Java and related technologies.
- Develop backend services with Java, integrate APIs, and optimize applications for cross-platform use.
- Plan and develop complete engineering solutions aligned with business goals and end-to-end processes.
- Build reliability, resiliency, maintainability, and reusability into engineering solutions through testing and reviews.
- Use Spring Boot, Hibernate or Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, RESTful APIs, databases, and Camunda workflows.
- Work with messaging platforms including Kafka, RabbitMQ, and IBM MQ.
- Participate in architecture, engineering plan, and quality reviews to improve reuse and engineering capability.
- Use development, version-control, build, testing, and CI/CD tools to deliver software.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate effectively at senior levels in a matrixed organization.
- Apply AI tools to improve productivity and workflows while using responsible judgment regarding data and AI outputs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience implementing software applications using Java and React technologies.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate or Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with SQL/PLSQL and databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Experience designing and implementing Camunda workflows.
- Experience with IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, Git, Maven or Gradle, Webpack, JUnit, and Selenium.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ messaging streams.
- Knowledge of distributed, large-scale, low-latency applications and application performance design patterns.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design principles including SOLID, DRY, and KISS.
- Knowledge of GCP Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and GKE is desirable.
- Experience managing container platforms such as Docker is desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and delivery skills in matrixed organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
