Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions.
- Build high-quality distributed system software.
- Apply software engineering best practices to maintain high-quality team deliverables.
- Lead a critical and highly visible function within the international expansion business.
- Own the service’s technical direction and feature roadmap autonomously.
- Collaborate with colleagues inside and outside the team and articulate technical challenges and solutions.
- Help hire and shape the team as needed.
- Follow DP World’s safety, conduct, ethics, values, and culture requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience based on three years of work experience for each year of education.
- 4–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed system design, databases, and design patterns.
- Strong coding skills in a modern language such as Node.js, Go, Scala, or Java.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum environments and DevOps automation.
- Experience with the listed web, database, cloud, and application technologies.
- Preferred: experience analyzing and optimizing distributed-system performance.
- Preferred: familiarity with AWS services including RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis, SNS, and CloudWatch.
- Preferred: experience with NLP, deep learning, and machine learning.
- Preferred: experience training machine learning models or developing machine learning infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle ambiguous or undefined problems and think abstractly.
