Responsibilities
- Advise customers and resolve complex MongoDB architecture, performance, recovery, security, availability, and scalability issues.
- Troubleshoot issues holistically across application, database, storage, networking, and systems layers.
- Support the performance of MongoDB Atlas and its supported cloud services.
- Help frontend and backend developers build applications on the MongoDB platform.
- Develop internal support tools for performance analysis, benchmarking, and diagnostics.
- Represent customer needs to product management and development teams.
- Document solutions in the knowledge base and share technical knowledge through training, workshops, and peer support.
- Handle technical escalations and develop expertise within the MongoDB technical experts group.
Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience in technical support, solutions support, or a customer-facing engineering role.
- Experience with distributed systems, database architecture and administration, application architecture, and data architecture.
- Experience supporting complex mission-critical applications and database systems, including relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience supporting cloud or enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across application, database, and storage layers.
- Systems administration experience involving Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read code and perform basic coding or scripting in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js, or Go.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols including DNS, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS.
- Storage engineering experience with NAS, RAID, SAN, SSD, multipathing, and caching.
- Experience with real-time stream processing using Kafka and serverless services such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English, with a strong customer-service orientation.
- Preferred experience includes server-side troubleshooting, object-oriented programming, connection pools, Apache Spark, LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory, MongoDB, Git, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and enterprise orchestration operators.
