MetaResponsibilities
- Collaborate with product, design, operations, and infrastructure teams to build innovative application experiences.
- Implement custom user interfaces and reusable software components that interface with backend platforms.
- Analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Lead complex technical or product efforts, provide technical guidance to peers, and establish technical direction for major initiatives.
- Architect efficient and scalable systems, identify performance and scalability issues, and resolve them.
- Own components, features, or systems with expert end-to-end understanding.
- Set technical direction and influence product strategy.
- Use data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least four years of software engineering or relevant experience, or at least three years with a PhD.
- At least three years of experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, artificial intelligence, or a related technical field.
- Experience developing machine learning models at scale from inception through business impact.
- Experience designing, building, or deploying recommendation systems, including collaborative filtering, content-based, hybrid, or large-scale personalization approaches.
- Hands-on experience with large language models such as BERT or GPT, including fine-tuning, integration, or production application.
- Knowledge of development and debugging in C/C++ and Java, or scripting experience with Python, Perl, PHP, and/or shell scripts; experience with Python, JavaScript, or Hack.
- Experience leading major technical initiatives, owning projects, defining technical direction, and demonstrating technical leadership.
- Experience delivering high-quality, reliable software and using data analysis to diagnose technical problems.
- Preferred qualifications include responsible and ethical AI practices, PyTorch and TensorFlow experience, prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration, AI workflow integration, large-scale software architecture, and publications, patents, or open-source contributions in recommendation or LLM technologies.
- A master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
Benefits
- Annual base salary of CA$192,000 to CA$256,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
