Responsibilities

Build automated processes and feedback loops for complex research tasks at scale using Agentic AI.
Develop reinforcement-learning environments for training reasoning models.
Build and use AI agents with context or harness engineering, knowledge retrieval, performance benchmarking, and multi-swarm agent orchestration.
Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and software developers on scientific and technical challenges.
Develop internal AI automation tooling for discovery, optimization, and validation of research.
Maintain production-quality code through automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
At least 4 years of ML or Research Engineer experience developing models or AI tools in a scientific or engineering research environment.
At least 2 years of experience with Agentic Systems, reinforcement-learning-based feedback loops, or large-scale LLM training and deployment.
Diverse experience building and using AI agents, including context or harness engineering, knowledge retrieval, benchmarking, and multi-swarm agent orchestration.
Strong software engineering skills and knowledge of physics and linear algebra.
Preferred: PhD or MSc in a relevant field, experience building domain-specific agentic systems, deep physical-science or mathematics knowledge, and familiarity with quantum computing.

Base salary range of 140,000–190,000 CAD, depending on location, experience, and internal benchmarks.
