Responsibilities
- Lead application systems analysis, programming, integration, deployment, and enhancement activities.
- Design and build efficient, horizontally scalable, highly available, resilient, and performant software platforms for large-scale data computation and processing.
- Develop quantitative and computation-intensive solutions using Python, including applications for market risk and financial modeling.
- Establish methodologies and standards for application analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Develop and operate applications on massive-scale compute grids using cloud, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
- Analyze complex business and system processes to define solutions to high-level problems.
- Consult with end users to identify system specifications and incorporate them into system designs.
- Allocate work and advise or coach developers, analysts, and new team members.
- Collaborate with quantitative research, trading, and risk management teams and communicate with senior leaders and external parties.
- Assess and manage technology and business risks while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience designing, building, and running applications on massive-scale compute grids.
- Expert hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider, AWS or GCP, including batch processing, container, and serverless offerings.
- Deep expertise in Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong Python programming skills and advanced knowledge of computation libraries and Python core concepts.
- Extensive experience building efficient software platforms for data computation and processing.
- Multiple years of experience developing quantitative or calculation-intensive solutions, such as Monte Carlo simulations, VaR calculations, or XVA pricing grids.
- Strong background in distributed systems, performance tuning, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior financial-industry experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
