Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud-native User Plane Core components for data-plane processing, packet forwarding, and high performance.
  • Develop and harden authentication, authorization, encryption, secure boot, secrets management, and isolation controls.
  • Implement packet processing using DPDK, XDP, eBPF, VPP, or equivalent technologies.
  • Containerize and deploy components using Kubernetes, CRI-O or containerd, Helm, and Operators.
  • Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability, scale testing, and performance tuning.
  • Perform threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, remediation, and incident-response collaboration with SRE and SecOps teams.
  • Collaborate with standards, product, integration, QA, operations, and control-plane teams to ensure interoperability.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to design documentation, code reviews, and engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, telecommunications, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of software development experience in networking, systems, or telecommunications.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and/or Go.
  • Hands-on experience with DPDK, XDP, eBPF, or VPP and container technologies such as CNI.
  • Practical experience with TLS, IPsec, certificate handling, and secure key management.
  • Familiarity with 3GPP 5G architecture, User Plane components, GTP-U, and PFCP.
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, and ELK.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, managed Kubernetes, Cilium, Calico, Istio, CISSP or security training, pktgen, TRex, UPF, SMF, VNFs, CNFs, NFV, or Telco Cloud is advantageous.
