Responsibilities

  • Develop motion control systems that translate operator commands into smooth robot movements.
  • Implement teleoperation control pipelines using impedance, admittance, and model predictive control.
  • Create force estimation algorithms for teleoperator interfaces.
  • Establish kinodynamic retargeting pipelines for translating human motion into robot commands.
  • Design calibration and validation pipelines to ensure consistent control system performance.
  • Manage compliant control of the robot during contact tasks.

Requirements

  • PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field focused on controls.
  • Strong foundation in robot kinematics and dynamics.
  • Hands-on experience with motion controllers on real robot hardware.
  • Experience with teleoperation control systems for low-latency robot command translation.
  • Proficiency in C++, Rust, or Python for real-time control systems.
  • Understanding of real-time constraints and control loop timing.
