Responsibilities
- Design, code, enhance, and optimize scalable Python software components, services, and automation frameworks.
- Lead Python development and automation delivery through planning, estimation, work allocation, dependency management, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
- Design modular services with clear interfaces, data models, dependency boundaries, and integration patterns while evaluating scalability, concurrency, security, testability, observability, and deployment trade-offs.
- Apply approved AI coding assistants for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and testing, and validate generated code for correctness, security, data handling, dependency risk, and performance.
- Integrate LLM APIs, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, and retrieval or vector-store integrations into tested AI-enabled automation.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, make team decisions, collaborate across multiple teams, and provide solutions for immediate and broader teams.
- Lead best-practice adoption, mentor junior engineers, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and support quality and release readiness.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience is required.
- At least 5 years of experience with Python is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Proficiency in Python and strong experience developing scalable software with modern frameworks and tools.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient code and understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
- Experience with debugging, testing, performance optimization, continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, and reliable software delivery.
- Hands-on experience using approved coding assistants, including context-rich prompting, generated-code review, and automated test validation.
- Ability to integrate LLM APIs into Python services, implement structured outputs and retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluate response quality, latency, cost, prompt-injection resistance, and sensitive-data handling.
- Knowledge of capital markets and investment management, including securities, trading, portfolio management, investment operations, and related financial-services processes.
- Experience leading development delivery, mentoring engineers, coordinating quality and release readiness, and managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholders.
