Software Engineer II

Responsibilities
- Design and build moderately complex, scalable, maintainable back-end solutions.
- Write technical design documents and contribute to squad-level design decisions.
- Develop modular, reusable, testable code and uphold unit, integration, end-to-end, and manual testing standards.
- Conduct code reviews, address technical debt, and contribute to workflow and tool improvements.
- Participate in product discovery, feasibility assessment, prototyping, and experimentation.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting and resolve minor performance or reliability issues.
- Break projects into actionable tasks and drive them from planning through delivery.
- Maintain technical documentation, analyze performance metrics and user feedback, and share knowledge with peers.
- Assist with technical interviews and coach new hires or interns on fundamental technical skills.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a software engineer shipping production code.
- Experience contributing to back-end distributed systems, services, scalable web applications, and cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with microservice architectures and experience deploying and hosting front ends and microservices on Kubernetes and AWS.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks and libraries including React, React Native, NextJS, and GraphQL, plus Node.js, Redis, and Kotlin.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and automated unit and integration testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, and adaptability skills.
