Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of DevOps processes, tools, and methodologies across the software development life cycle.
- Build, maintain, and improve automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment environments.
- Own Terraform-based infrastructure, including state management, reviews, and best practices.
- Support, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters for availability, performance, and compatibility.
- Coordinate production deployments and serve as a liaison between development and operations teams.
- Manage IAM permissions, service accounts, SSL certificates, CloudFront distributions, and cloud infrastructure across GCP and AWS.
- Track DevOps operational metrics including release frequency, lead time, failure rates, and mean time to recovery.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues while improving platform reliability, security posture, and operational efficiency.
- Work a regular schedule that may include nights, weekends, and variable hours as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine, including cluster operations, probes, autoscaling, and upgrades.
- Experience with Terraform and Helm for infrastructure as code; Puppet experience is a plus.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Cloud Build for CI/CD.
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Linux or macOS, and shell scripting.
- Experience administering Cloud SQL and Firestore.
- Experience managing IAM and service accounts across GCP and AWS, including Workload Identity Federation.
- Familiarity with AWS S3, EC2, and CloudFront.
- Proficiency with Git, Python, and Bash.
- Experience with CDNs, SSL/TLS, production change management, infrastructure troubleshooting, and operational metrics.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, collaborate across teams, mentor others, and maintain current development technology knowledge.
