Responsibilities
- Build and enhance backend services for Grab’s Wallet Cash-In/Cash-out Experience and payments platform.
- Design backend components, features, algorithms, and architectures alongside business owners, engineering managers, and product managers.
- Participate in discovery sessions, R&D, code reviews, testing, debugging, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Investigate incidents and resolve production issues through on-call responsibilities to maintain service availability.
- Explore and use Generative AI to improve workflows and development velocity.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong software engineering and coding skills with proficiency in GoLang, Java, or other core programming languages.
- Experience with RDBMS and unit testing using JUnit, Go Testify, or comparable mock frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of idempotency, the CAP theorem, distributed computing, and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Datadog.
- Experience working with large-scale payment processing systems.
- Experience with microservice architecture, gRPC, REST API, Kafka, and SQS.
