Responsibilities
- Lead moderately complex software engineering initiatives and technical deliverables.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, upgrade, and deploy technology projects and programs.
- Design and build Java applications, microservices, and web services.
- Review and resolve moderately complex technical challenges and serve as an escalation point.
- Collaborate with technology teams and cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, design and architecture guidance, and direction to junior engineers.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers and evaluate and onboard new tools and technologies.
- Support cloud migration efforts and implement engineering improvements.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building applications with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot is desired.
- Strong experience designing and building microservices or web services.
- Familiarity with MongoDB, including querying, data validation, and document schemas.
- Payments-domain experience with knowledge of Wires/SWIFT and ISO 20022 message structures.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, including indexing, search/query validation, and result interpretation.
- Familiarity with GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, agentic AI workflows, and LLM-based test generation.
- Knowledge of messaging services such as Kafka and Solace, relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, and caching solutions such as Redis, Ignite, and Coherence.
- Experience working in cloud environments such as PCF, OCP, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, and Sonar is desired.
- Strong technical leadership, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Azure or Google Cloud Platform certification and cloud application migration experience are additional advantages.
