Principal Engineer - Performance Testing

Responsibilities
- Lead performance engineering transformation and oversee performance-testing deliverables for large, complex programs.
- Design and execute end-to-end performance tests, including load, stress, chaos, failover, breakpoint, and disaster recovery testing.
- Diagnose application, infrastructure, network, and configuration bottlenecks and recommend tuning and architectural improvements.
- Establish performance and resiliency standards with application, infrastructure, cloud, and network teams.
- Create reusable performance-testing utilities, components, Splunk queries, AppDynamics patterns, and configurations.
- Analyze latency challenges with the CTO team and resolve complex production performance and stability issues.
- Advise leadership, provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 7 years of executing and leading performance testing.
- At least 5 years of using scripting languages to create performance-testing utilities or reusable components.
- At least 2 years of experience working with observability rules.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of performance testing in data center migration programs.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of experience with LoadRunner and/or JMeter/BlazeMeter.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of experience with AppDynamics, Splunk, or Grafana.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, firewalls, load balancers, and OpenShift Container Platform or other cloud platforms such as PCF.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all organizational levels.
