Base Salary
$70k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the API Gateway platform’s test automation vision, roadmap, standards, governance, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and implement scalable automation frameworks and reusable test harnesses for API, integration, regression, performance, security, resiliency, and compliance testing.
- Build automated API validation suites and integrate testing into Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead testing for API Gateway enhancements, upgrades, new capabilities, production fixes, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Validate API proxy configurations, security policies, routing, authentication, authorization, traffic management controls, and enterprise integrations.
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test scenarios; analyze defects and validate remediation.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, platform, developers, and product owners to resolve quality issues.
- Mentor engineers and team members on automation development and quality engineering techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in software quality assurance, automation engineering, or quality engineering.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks.
- Experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with automation tools or frameworks such as Postman, Karate, Rest Assured, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Experience developing automation with Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, or similar programming languages.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred experience with enterprise API Gateway platforms such as Apigee, Apigee X, Kong, Mulesoft, Azure API Management, or similar technologies.
- Preferred experience with Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or AWS; OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, MTLS, API security controls, and certificate management.
- Preferred experience with JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner and with resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity validation.
- Preferred familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar DevOps toolsets.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
