Responsibilities
- Build and continuously improve AI agents and tools using web access, semantic and hybrid retrieval, structured-data querying, internal APIs, and knowledge graphs.
- Design, implement, and evaluate agentic workflows and multi-agent systems while balancing accuracy, latency, autonomy, and control.
- Define evaluation frameworks and metrics for retrieval quality, agent performance, factual accuracy, and business relevance.
- Partner with Research, Product, and Engineering to prototype, test, and refine new capabilities.
- Take solutions from prototype to production through API development, GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes deployments on AWS.
- Own system and service lifecycles, including architecture, implementation, deployment, adoption, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in AI engineering, data science, software engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Production experience building and operating RAG pipelines and agentic systems.
- Hands-on expertise with BM25, vector search, hybrid retrieval, reranking, and retrieval evaluation.
- Experience designing APIs and deploying containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to rapidly prototype agentic workflows, make pragmatic production decisions, and translate ambiguous business requirements into technical roadmaps.
- Strong product judgment, ownership, and independent execution skills.
- Interest in or experience with global security, financial crime, sanctions, export controls, or related domains.
- Bonus experience with graph-aware retrieval, graph databases, or integrating knowledge-graph outputs into search and agentic systems.
Benefits
- Annual remuneration of €95,000–€115,000 plus a discretionary annual bonus.
- Full-time role based in Madrid, Spain, with a hybrid arrangement of three days per week.
- Monthly pay frequency and a 180-day probationary period.
- Kharon is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in Europe and Spain.
