Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of SIL, HIL, EOLT, and bench test systems from prototype through production deployment and field sustainment.
  • Define schedules, acceptance criteria, production-readiness requirements, and measurable test targets.
  • Architect, implement, and maintain software for test-sequence orchestration, data capture, analysis, reporting, automation, and dashboards.
  • Integrate test software with boards, sensors, calibration systems, motion systems, power systems, and DAQ instruments.
  • Lead failure investigations and root-cause analysis for test and production issues, driving corrective actions to closure.
  • Define and enforce test standards, pass/fail criteria, and validation protocols across products and production lines.
  • Own CI and validation pipelines that gate changes to flight or manufacturing systems.
  • Deploy and scale test systems in collaboration with embedded firmware, hardware, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and field operations teams.
  • Coordinate vendor hardware and field installations when required.
  • Support production escalations, on-call rotations, and urgent in-factory or field troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience building integration or test software that interfaces with hardware.
  • Strong Python and C/C++ programming skills.
  • Linux system administration experience and experience with CI, Git, and test automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on embedded systems experience, including board bring-up, instrumentation, oscilloscopes, DAQ, power analyzers, and interpreting datasheets.
  • Required experience with HIL, SIL, and EOL test architectures.
  • Experience building automation for factory or safety-critical environments and delivering against production schedules and quality targets.
  • Demonstrated ownership of cross-disciplinary test or integration programs from end to end.
  • Track record of shipping systems with quantified improvements in throughput, yield, defect reduction, or reliability.
  • Ability to make cross-functional technical decisions, write clear acceptance criteria, and work with engineering and operations stakeholders.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, meet high-impact deadlines, and travel to manufacturing or distribution sites as needed.
  • Ability to work primarily onsite in South San Francisco and regularly from the office.
