Responsibilities
- Influence multiple Agile development teams through the full development life cycle using SAFe.
- Architect full-stack, cloud-native, microservices, batch, and event-driven applications.
- Design data models and application architectures for complex business processes.
- Drive CI/CD strategy using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and uDeploy.
- Collaborate with software developers, UX designers, product managers, architects, and customer application experts.
- Mentor team members and lead Agile sprints as the technical expert.
- Maintain technology architecture strategy and modernization and migration roadmaps.
- Ensure code quality through development, testing, QA, architecture, security, and technology standards.
- Analyze production defects, conduct root-cause analysis, troubleshoot systems, and implement fixes.
- Provide periodic 24x7 on-call support and improve system efficiency and performance.
- Work with third-party vendors to develop or integrate software into company products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Around 7 years of technology experience, 5+ years of Java API development, and 2 years of technical leadership driving product solutions in Enterprise Communications.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud Data Flow, Amazon S3, Git, Maven, Gradle, and REST.
- Strong experience developing microservices using 12-factor application methodology and designing APIs with SOLID principles and Java microservice patterns.
- Experience with event-driven applications using Kafka, caching systems such as Redis and GemFire, and databases including MySQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Jenkins, JIRA, JIRA Align, Splunk, New Relic, and NSQL.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test, plus familiarity with behavior-driven development and API test automation.
- Experience with security frameworks and libraries including AES, JWT, and OAuth 2.0.
- Experience with Sonar and PMD quality-check tools and with database architecture and modeling.
- Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, influencing, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Prior experience with US payment networks such as ACH or wire processing is desired.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted development is preferred.
Benefits
- Work hours are 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST.
- The role qualifies for Synchrony India’s Enhanced Flexibility arrangement, with required availability from 06:00 AM to 11:30 AM Eastern Time for India-US team meetings and flexibility during remaining hours.
- Periodic 24x7 on-call support is required throughout the year.
