Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and implement topology, configuration, versioning, and compatibility structures across aircraft simulation platforms.
- Improve routing layers, hardware/software interfaces, runtime integration components, and simulation stability.
- Develop scenario-based, Monte Carlo, multi-scenario, sensor-input, and autonomy-behavior simulation capabilities.
- Build validation tooling, schema-driven interface checks, and reproducible simulation environments to prevent integration failures.
- Modernize toolchains and implement CI/CD workflows for simulation artifacts.
- Mentor engineers, establish extensibility and architectural standards, and influence Autonomy, Compute Platform, Systems, and Lab Integration stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building or scaling complex simulation or autonomy validation environments.
- Experience contributing to or architecting large-scale simulation frameworks such as AFSIM, Unreal- or Unity-based environments, CARLA, custom autonomy simulation platforms, or equivalent.
- Strong software architecture experience with multi-component distributed systems.
- Experience defining interface contracts, configuration schemas, or API boundaries in complex systems.
- Experience integrating simulation environments with real-time or hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and/or C++.
- Demonstrated ability to modernize or scale legacy engineering toolchains.
- Preferred qualifications include autonomy simulation experience in automotive, aerospace, or robotics; scenario-based validation experience; SIL/HIL familiarity; CI/CD implementation experience; and a safety-critical systems background.
