Responsibilities
- Own product areas end-to-end, including identifying opportunities, building conviction, shipping solutions, and driving measurable outcomes.
- Design complete systems including data models, API designs, frontend architecture or backend services and infrastructure, and deployment strategies.
- Make and own high-stakes technical decisions such as build-versus-buy, monolith-versus-service, and prototyping-versus-hardening choices.
- Work with ML researchers to turn research services into reliable, product-consumable systems.
- Ship, measure, course-correct, and drive products toward sustained impact after initial release.
- Raise technical and product quality by introducing practices, unblocking teammates, and creating clarity amid ambiguity.
- Collaborate with product, design, research, and leadership to align on priorities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on product development.
- Deep experience building web applications across data models, APIs, frontend architecture, and deployment.
- Track record of repeated, attributable impact with measurable and sustained outcomes across multiple projects or companies.
- Strong technical depth in performance issues including slow queries, N+1 problems, caching, and transaction isolation.
- Experience making autonomous product and architectural decisions, validating opportunities, building buy-in, and delivering successful outcomes.
- Clear, persuasive communication across engineering, product, and leadership.
- Conviction about AI evaluation and Arena Intelligence's mission.
- Bonus: production experience with AI/LLM systems such as inference pipelines, evaluation workflows, model integration, or AI-powered product features.
- Bonus: familiarity with NextJS, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, ShadCN, HonoJS, Postgres, and Vitest.
- Bonus: experience with Supabase or Vercel's AI SDK.
