Responsibilities
- Develop next-generation capabilities for CloudKit and Apple’s cloud services infrastructure.
- Build and operate fault-tolerant, highly available, scalable, multi-tier distributed systems.
- Work on strongly consistent structured-data storage, schema design, indexes, transactions, caching, event streaming, and queueing.
- Program in concurrent and multithreaded environments and use synchronous and asynchronous network application I/O frameworks.
- Help deliver secure, privacy-focused services for Apple customers and applications.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience developing software in Java, C, or C++.
- Experience with distributed NoSQL and relational database technologies.
- Expertise with synchronous and asynchronous network application I/O frameworks.
- Expertise in concurrent and multithreaded programming.
- Industry experience building and operating large-scale multi-tier distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience.
- Preferred: experience with KV data stores such as FoundationDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra; storage-system fundamentals; Redis or Memcached; Kafka; AWS, GCP, containers, Kubernetes, and gRPC.
- Preferred: experience with TLS, X.509 certificates, or similar security and cryptographic protocols.
