Lead Software Engineer- Distributed Systems

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, deploy, and operate resilient distributed systems and backend Java services.
- Lead architecture and delivery of global Edge CDN services across GCP, AWS, Azure, and/or Alibaba.
- Build real-time analytics and autonomous self-healing and self-optimizing automation for AI-heavy traffic.
- Balance live-site management, feature delivery, technical-debt retirement, and operational excellence.
- Own mission-critical infrastructure services at scale, including monitoring, alerting, logging, and performance analytics.
- Resolve complex technical issues and improve system availability, resilience, and performance.
- Create, maintain, and share technical documentation for engineering teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in object-oriented programming with a strong focus on Java.
- Solid expertise in modern database technologies.
- Fluency in design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience engineering and operating large, complex systems on public cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, Azure, and/or Alibaba.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helios, Fleet, or Mesos.
- Experience with telemetry, metrics, automation, testing, continuous integration, and operational excellence.
- Preferred: active open-source contributions or interest in open-source projects.
- Preferred: experience with SOAP and REST APIs, scalable API design, networking protocols, Nginx, Envoy, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS termination, HTTP proxies, AWS CloudFront, Google CDN, Cloudflare, and Akamai.
- Preferred: familiarity with Spark, Kafka, Druid, and Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
