Responsibilities
- Build API adapters between the gateway and internal data, search, and AI services.
- Implement output formatting and citation packaging for different channel consumers.
- Contribute to schema validation, rate limiting, and abuse control infrastructure.
- Build and maintain authentication infrastructure and audit logging.
- Develop shared abstractions across multiple channel adapters.
- Write tests and contribute to quality practices across the engineering pod.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building APIs or backend services in Python.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON Schema, and HTTP fundamentals.
- Familiarity with authentication patterns including OAuth and API keys.
- Proficiency with modern Python web frameworks.
- Detail-oriented approach to API boundary correctness and comfort working in a fast-moving team.
- Preferred: experience with agent-to-service protocols or developer platform APIs.
- Preferred: background wrapping or aggregating multiple backend services.
- Preferred: experience with data formatting and transformation layers.
- Preferred: familiarity with enterprise integration patterns.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source API tooling.
