Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evolve platform services that govern and secure permissions across applications, AI workloads, and automated systems.
- Own features through design, implementation, testing, rollout, monitoring, and live-site reliability.
- Translate security, compliance, and enterprise governance requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Perform design and code reviews and improve engineering quality and operational practices.
- Identify and mitigate security risks, scalability bottlenecks, and reliability gaps.
- Contribute to health metrics, alerting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with product managers, partner teams, and adjacent Entra services.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Strong coding skills in C#, Java, or a comparable object-oriented language.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-based services and distributed systems.
- Understanding of system design, performance, reliability, and security.
- Ability to independently own complex problem areas and deliver results with minimal oversight.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred experience or interest in identity security, AI security, governance, or authorization systems.
- Preferred familiarity with OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, JWT, RESTful APIs, microservices, and large-scale cloud platforms.
- Prior mentoring experience or experience leading technical initiatives is preferred.
