Responsibilities
- Design and build software systems that manage production services safely at scale.
- Build deployment, configuration, validation, and observability workflows for production infrastructure.
- Develop systems that support review, validation, auditing, rollback, and reduced reliance on manual operator steps.
- Improve telemetry, alerting, and health checks for easier issue detection and diagnosis.
- Own and operate the production services managed by the platform and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Work with internal users and partner teams to understand requirements and deliver supportable platform solutions.
- Review code for correctness, design quality, test coverage, maintainability, and operational safety.
- Help shape the platform architecture, engineering standards, and operating model.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience in a functional or object-oriented programming language.
- Experience building, testing, debugging, and operating production software or infrastructure platforms.
- Ability to reason through ambiguous technical problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and make sound design decisions.
- Strong written, verbal, and diagram-based communication skills.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience with deployment platforms, orchestration systems, infrastructure-as-code workflows, or internal developer/operator tooling.
- Preferred experience designing safe rollout, validation, rollback, or automated remediation workflows.
- Preferred experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Humio, Prometheus, or similar.
- Familiarity with Linux infrastructure, virtualization, or large-scale production systems.
- Interest in mentoring others and raising the engineering maturity of a team.
