Responsibilities
- Lead high-severity production incident responses and technical resolution.
- Perform root-cause analyses and implement long-term solutions for recurring production issues.
- Debug distributed systems and core backend code, optimize database queries, and manage live data streaming pipelines.
- Build preventative monitoring, alerting, automation, runbooks, and automated end-to-end integration scripts.
- Operate and improve AWS-based production environments and high-availability backend platforms.
- Mentor junior team members and improve the team’s operational practices and reliability standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating and troubleshooting distributed systems at scale.
- Strong experience with AWS, including ECS, CDK, Lambda, Cognito, and CloudFront, along with Infrastructure as Code workflows.
- Practical experience with streaming architectures such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming, such as C#/.NET, for debugging codebases.
- Strong SQL and database optimization skills.
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Datadog.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and scripting for automated integration testing.
- Experience with real-time sports technology or media streaming architectures is a bonus.
