Base Salary
$165k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated API, integration, and end-to-end test frameworks and suites for the LiveOps web platform and backend services
- Own end-to-end and regression testing for live video streaming, teleoperation, fleet management, data management, and third-party integrations
- Validate IAM and security controls including Amazon Cognito, multi-tenant authentication and authorization, and Lambda authorizers
- Validate machine learning and computer vision outputs, including object detection, segmentation, classification, confidence thresholds, and model-version regressions
- Test health monitoring and observability, including alerting pipelines, DynamoDB Streams, and CloudWatch alarm behavior
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and gate production releases with reliable quality feedback
- Build and maintain repeatable test infrastructure, environments, and test data
- Design and execute performance, load, and reliability testing for real-time, low-latency services
- Partner with engineering teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria earlier in the development cycle
- Triage failures, perform root-cause analysis, track defects, produce quality metrics and release-readiness reports, and promote testing best practices
Requirements
- 5–12 years of experience in software test engineering, SDET, or quality engineering for web and cloud platforms
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript and Python and the ability to write production-quality test code
- Hands-on experience building web and API test automation with Playwright, including end-to-end suites and reporting frameworks
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working in Linux and bash environments
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure and distributed, service-based architectures
- Strong communication and documentation skills for cross-functional engineering collaboration
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with real-time or streaming systems such as WebRTC, RTSP, WebSockets, or low-latency data pipelines is preferred
- Experience creating end-to-end automation from scratch in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment is preferred
- Experience testing cloud platforms that interact with hardware, IoT, or robotics devices is preferred
- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6, JMeter, Locust, or Gatling is preferred
- Experience validating third-party API integrations and contract testing is preferred
- Background in drones, robotics, UAVs, or public safety is preferred
- Experience testing serverless architectures, particularly AWS Lambda and DynamoDB Streams, is preferred
- SOC 2 or other security compliance awareness and experience testing in regulated or audited environments is preferred
