Responsibilities

Define and implement logging architecture, structured logging standards, collection, storage, retention, archival, and field-debugging strategies for AOSP-based systems.
Build crash, ANR, native crash, kernel panic, tombstone, DropBox, bugreport, and diagnostic-artifact analysis infrastructure.
Develop tools and frameworks for issue reproduction, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, debuggability, and diagnosability.
Investigate production issues, identify recurring failure patterns, lead incident reviews and postmortems, and drive corrective actions.
Design log-based monitoring, anomaly detection, automated alerting and escalation, dashboards, reporting tools, and reliability metrics.
Implement secure logging and diagnostics, protect PII and sensitive customer information, support security investigations, and ensure retention and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Engineering, Customer Support, Security, and Product teams to improve platform quality, reliability, and user experience.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of Android native development experience with Java/Kotlin and Android Studio.
Experience developing Android/AOSP system software and designing Logging, Diagnostics, or Observability systems.
Strong experience with crash analysis, production debugging, root-cause investigation, and large-scale production incidents.
Strong programming skills in C/C++, Java, and/or Kotlin.
Experience debugging Linux Kernel or low-level system software issues.
Understanding of software architecture, operating systems, and system software fundamentals.
Preferred experience includes Android Framework components, Kernel Logging, Tracing, low-level diagnostics, Perfetto, Systrace, ftrace, crash analytics platforms, security incident response, forensic investigations, consumer electronics, SRE, telemetry and observability platforms, cloud-native logging and analytics, and developer or debugging tools.
Preferred familiarity with React, React Native, Angular, or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, and customer-focus skills.
