Java Full Stack Developer - Assistant Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable, performant, and scalable PROSE application components for multi-asset-class business solutions.
- Develop React-based user interfaces and Java and Spring-based services.
- Design, build, and deploy distributed systems, scalable microservices, and cloud-native applications.
- Own end-to-end delivery of functional and non-functional features across major project phases.
- Lead resolution of complex design, performance, and integration issues.
- Collaborate with business analysts, technical architects, product teams, and engineering teams to translate requirements into sustainable software solutions.
- Write and review unit, integration, and automated tests while improving testing frameworks, coverage, performance, and resilience.
- Provide technical guidance through code and design reviews.
- Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Deep expertise in object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles, and software engineering best practices.
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience building scalable, high-performance, multi-tier applications.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying distributed systems and scalable microservices with Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Front-end development experience with React, Node.js, HTML5, JavaScript or TypeScript, and JSON.
- Knowledge of relational SQL/RDBMS data stores.
- Understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle from design through deployment and production support.
- Ability to analyze complex business and technical problems and lead robust, high-performance software delivery.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI concepts, including practical use of AI-enabled tools such as Copilot.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and effective collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams.
- At least 5 years of experience in the financial services domain, including front-office applications.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
