Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services, tooling, and frameworks that make software development and delivery fast, safe, and reliable.
- Explore and integrate AI-assisted workflows, coding agents, guardrails, conventions, context, and evaluation frameworks into the software development lifecycle.
- Improve cloud development environments and automated CI/CD and pull-request pipelines to accelerate engineering feedback loops.
- Write clean, modular, maintainable code with unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.
- Build monitoring, logging, and alerting for platform services, identify performance bottlenecks, and lead complex issue and incident resolution.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, document technical proposals, and drive consensus and adoption across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Substantial experience designing, building, and operating scalable backend systems and distributed services in production.
- Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs, system stability, boundaries, and interfaces.
- Practical experience using AI tools and understanding LLM limitations and failure modes, with the ability to design appropriate guardrails and scaffolding.
- Ability to take ambiguous engineering problems from structured milestones through completion with high autonomy.
- Experience mentoring engineers, providing actionable feedback, and collaborating across teams.
- Understanding of application interaction with infrastructure and experience instrumenting services with metrics, traces, and logs.
- Excellent written and spoken English and ability to communicate technical ideas through documentation, RFCs, and discussions.
- Hands-on experience with Go, Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD, or cloud infrastructure is a plus.
- Prior Platform, Developer Tooling, CI/CD, or Developer Experience experience is a plus.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs, coding agents, or developer productivity workflows into development pipelines is a plus.
