Responsibilities
- Build and take ownership of mission-critical backend services for pricing and discounts.
- Design and implement APIs, event-driven systems, and external integrations.
- Develop scalable services in Go and maintain, fix, or refactor Ruby code.
- Break down monoliths into smaller services and components.
- Monitor deployed systems using Kibana, Grafana, and Datadog.
- Own SLIs/SLOs and participate in an on-call rotation every 6–7 weeks.
- Collaborate across teams to prioritize and deliver product improvements.
- Contribute through GitHub pull requests, code reviews, testing, and continuous deployment.
Requirements
- Experience designing and implementing backend services, robust APIs, event-driven systems, and external integrations.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, systems architecture, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven architecture.
- Understanding of enterprise architecture patterns and the tradeoffs of services and microservices.
- Willingness to learn Go; prior Go experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to read, fix, and refactor Ruby code.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate openly, and drive meaningful improvements.
