Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve systems for messaging, service-to-service communication, APIs, file management, and workflow management.
- Build and evolve event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
- Own solutions end-to-end from design through production stability.
- Maintain high standards of quality, security, availability, scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Drive technical discussions, contribute to architecture decisions, and challenge existing solutions.
- Build proofs of concept to validate ideas and technologies.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders in a cross-functional Agile team.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform testing, and continuously improve system reliability.
- Develop a deep understanding of the bank’s processes and products.
- Work in an international, Pan-Baltic environment.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on software-development experience with Java, preferably Java 21, and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and building distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka or a similar technology.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, container orchestration such as Kubernetes and Docker, and CI/CD pipelines such as Argo CD.
- Experience with modern microservices architecture and API design.
- Solid understanding of SQL databases; NoSQL database experience is a plus.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing abilities.
- Fluent spoken and written English is required.
- Candidates are primarily expected to be located within the Baltics.
