Base Salary
$139k - $153k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship smaller, well-scoped features within an established codebase with guidance from senior engineers.
- Write and test code against acceptance criteria, including unit tests for positive and negative conditions.
- Submit clear pull requests, review teammates’ code, and apply feedback to improve technical skills.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product managers on solution design, tradeoffs, and business impact.
- Participate in sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, and technical design reviews.
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly with engineering and cross-functional partners.
- Follow standards for testing, documentation, monitoring, and operational readiness, and make minor refactors.
- Learn how AI- and data-powered components are used in production while following responsible data and privacy guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience.
- Object-oriented programming experience in at least one of TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Java, or C#.
- Foundational understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, data modeling, APIs, and relational databases.
- Some familiarity with unit testing, including stubbing or mocking dependencies.
- Exposure to customer-facing applications through coursework, internships, side projects, or early professional work.
- Clear written and verbal communication, willingness to seek feedback and mentorship, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred exposure to design patterns, Java, C#, Kotlin, A/B testing frameworks, AI/ML-powered personalization or recommendations, and analytics instrumentation with PostHog, Segment, or Amplitude.
- Coursework, internship, or side-project experience in fintech, lending, or another regulated industry is preferred.
