Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture, platform roadmaps, and long-term technology direction.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and product leaders to deliver cloud-based solutions and shared services.
- Mentor engineers and drive professional development, coding standards, design patterns, and technical standards across teams.
- Establish observability and reliability practices and use observability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks.
- Lead architectural design reviews, cross-functional engineering efforts, and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, excluding internship experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 9+ years coding with multiple specified languages, and 5+ years with open source frameworks and front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
- Preferred experience includes APIs, databases, AWS/GCP/Azure, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, mentoring senior engineers, observability, architecture reviews, coding standards, and enterprise technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion, and leading cross-functional or large-scale technical initiatives.

- The stated full-time annual base salary ranges vary by location: Chicago and Richmond $209,000-$238,500, McLean $229,900-$262,400, and New York $250,800-$286,200.
